Joshua makes the armies of the Lord ready for the conquest of Jericho, then the rest of the Land. To do this he must comply with a neglected rite of the Hebrews, after which he is granted a visit from the Lord Himself.
Heavy Things
God commanded Joshua to place memorial stones in the Jordan where the priests stood and the people passed. Then He commanded stones taken from river and placed on land as a memorial, to tell the children.
Crossing Jordan
After forty years God’s people come to the Jordan River as it overflows its banks. With their priests in the waters shouldering the ark, the river stops its flow and the people enter the Promised Land on dry ground.
Spies and Allies
Here is one of the most beautiful stories of salvation in the Old Testament. We meet Rahab, a remarkable sinner saved by faith. We hear her confession of faith, and see her faith in action, helping God’s servants.
Orders and Allegiance
Joshua gives the order to prepare to cross Jordan into the Promised Land. He brings up an old and serious matter with two and a half tribes and finds that they will honor their word to Moses with allegiance to Joshua.
