Jesus moved quickly to get His apostles away from those wanting to enslave Him. Sending them away by sea, He went to a mountain to pray. Then, seeing them struggling to row against the wind, He came to them.
The Hand of Sovereignty
The apostles report to Christ about their being sent out, and word reaches Him about John’s murder. So He sought a getaway but was intercepted by the needs of the multitudes. Then He did an unforgettable miracle.
John’s Murderers
The wicked ruler Herod Antipas, his hate filled unlawful wife Herodias, joined by her just as evil daughter, form a murders committee against John the Baptizer. Forfeiting their own souls in the process.
The Rejection
The Lord returned to Nazareth, where He grew up, and again taught in that synagogue, and was there rejected a second time. Undaunted by their unwillingness to believe, He sent out His apostles to minister.
The Solution
Jesus departed from where He was unwelcomed and was soon approached by a father who’s child was dying. En route to the child a woman in great need delayed Him, yet she was healed the child raise up.
