An outline of the suffering of Jesus Christ in the Old Testament 700 years before it happened. All laid out in great detail, God’s plan to save humanity by giving Himself as a substitute to atone for our sins. God’s brave love plan was not reckless, but purposeful to accomplish what He had in store.
Anticipating Objections
God is ALWAYS faithful, both to Jews and to Non-Jews. If we fail (which we do) He will remain faithful to do what He has promised! The entire world is guilty; we cannot rationalize our way out of it. God has made a way to get us right with Him, and He laid it out in the entirety of His scriptures.
Watch and Pray
The Lord gives us the parable of the fig tree. He emphasizes the importance of watching, praying and looking for His return knowing that the time is short and that His returning is soon approaching.
God’s Fairness
Knowledge of the Law of God is not a guarantee of salvation; the Jews are just as guilty as the Gentiles who do not know of God. Those who trust in the rite of circumcision will find it of no avail. The Jew is condemned by the Law and the Gentile is condemned by not doing what he knows to be right. Our only hope is thru the finished work of Christ.
Restoration of Israel
God foretells of the sin-bearing Servant and His deliverance for Jerusalem. The LORD’s suffering servant will be the exalted Servant and God’s plan of salvation for all people will be played out thru the rest of eternity despite the enemy’s attempts to thwart it.
