Peter cared for the salvation of those gathering around the healed lame beggar. But this care is without caring if the truth about their guilt before God offends them or not. It is not carelessness, it is seriousness applied to lost lives in a lost state. Peter cares more for their hearing God’s side rather than withholding it so they can repent and be saved from God’s wrath.
Priorities
As Peter and John were going in to the Jewish temple at the evening hour for prayer, they were asked by a lame beggar for alms, this man was over forty years old and had never walked. Peter told him that he had no money but what he did have was Jesus Christ and Peter raised the beggar up, and he stood, walked, and leaped. This will lead to preaching Christ then persecution for preaching Christ.
The Foundation
This section of Scripture is one of the most overlooked powerhouse sections in the Bible. The 42nd verse is the foundation verse for the Christian church as well as for the individual believer. The doctrine of the apostles is the teachings of Jesus Christ, and this includes steadfastness, fellowship, communion and prayer. These produce life and power in the Church and the Christian, with gladness of heart and simplicity.

Attacking the Gates
Now that the apostles are filled with the Spirit of God and are getting down to business of the kingdom, Peter, having rebuffed silly accusations about them, using Scripture from the prophet Joel to do so, now goes on the offensive, using the psalms of David. It is a magnificent assault against the gates of Hell.
