Uzziah was one of Judah’s greatest kings. He enjoyed so many achievements because of His love and obedience to God. But in a moment, in a single act of self-serving pride, he forever marred his righteous record. Still, he was good.

Amaziah begins by exercising justice on his father murders. Then, due to his spiritual dullness, a man of God warns and advises him to send away his hired idolatrous mercenaries. Then wars, rebukes, apostasy and assassination
King of Ingrates
After the intrigue of the previous chapter which gave Judah a new king, we now follow his days of rule under the influence of Jehoiada; temple restoration, Jehoiada’s death, apostasy, ingratitude, murder then Divine judgment.
Overthrowing Evil
The evil mother of the now dead King Ahaziah had killed all the Davidic heirs to the throne — except one. Taken to a hiding place for six years by a godly priest and his wife, now, six years later, he is crowned king and she is executed.
The Lost Survivor
This king survived the Arabian sword but not his friendship with the wicked. His willing apprenticeship to sorcerers cost him his life, limiting his reign to one year. His wicked mother seized power, killing the Davidic heirs, except one.
