The coming of the Holy Spirit upon the Christians arrived with signs and wonders which amazed and perplexed the Pentecost pilgrims. Some from the crowd scoffed, but Peter promptly rebuffed them, using reason and Scripture. Peter, who thrice denied Jesus, is now empowered to bear witness to Him, as God promised.
