Joshua gives his final speech to the nation along with a challenge the people to serve God without turning to surrounding customs, the people pledge allegiance. Joshua dies, is buried, as Joseph’s bones also buried.
Farewell to Israel’s Leaders
In this first of two farewell speeches, Joshua encourages the leaders to be courageous and cleave to Yahweh. He warns them against familiarity with pagans gods, and mixed marriages, “or else” he warns.
