We begin Hebrews by considering its author, date, audience, purpose and of course Jesus Christ. Hebrews lays out in force the superiority of Christ above all others, and that He alone is sufficient for salvation.
Fighting the Flesh
Three characters in this chapter that draw a picture of spiritual conflict concerning us. It reveals that we are the object of hostile interest. That we are to join God in His efforts to fight and defeat our own flesh.
Resilience
When we fail to be strong in our faith, He does not fail with us — He can be no less than perfect. Scriptures verses such as this are given to strengthen our resilience in the face of defeat – He is faithful!
Eager and Prepared
Some are eager to share their faith but not prepared. The Bible shows us how to prepare ourselves for the sharing of the faith in a hostile world — the apostle Paul is one such example, he was enthusiastic and equipped in the faith!
Jesus Ascends to Heaven
The Lord Jesus opens the understanding of His disciples so that they could comprehend the Scriptures. He then led them out of Jerusalem and then blessed them, ascending to heaven as they worshiped Him.
