Concerning God’s plan of salvation Peter schools the persecuted believers on the divine and miraculous processes that brought us the prophecies about the Christ they loved and suffered for in this age of grace.
The Calling of Nehemiah
Now begins the story of rebuilding Jerusalem’s walls, which had been in ruins for over 140 years. Walls that spoke of Israel’s separation from the world. Here we meet the man of prayer that God chose to rebuild them.
The Believer’s Prize
Peter tells believers that awaiting us after this life is an incorruptible and un-defilable inheritance. The Holy Spirit, through the pen of Peter, insists that the believer is kept by God, with their prize also guarded by Him.
Wages of Sin
Ezra’s lamentations over the sins of his people had stirred in them an awakening to their sins against God. So the people initiated actions which involve annulling the pagan marriages. These were the wages of sin.
Introduction to First Peter
This is the first of two letters from Peter, that great disciple of Jesus Christ. We meet him in the gospels after which we cannot forget him. A victim himself of persecution, he writes to strengthen persecuted Christians.
