James, right to the point, tells Christian’s to not bad-mouth each other, asking those who do to tell us who they think that they are to do so. He tells us that we must live by God’s will and not presumptuously striving to do as we please.
Submit to Resist
Without surrender to God the Devil prevails in our lives. But those submitted to God draw near to Him, improving their outward and inward life. James points out that those who lack serious living in the face of sin have it all wrong.
Scandalous Behavior
Wasting no time James attacks those things that strip Christians of peace. He intensifies his assault against shameful behaviors amongst churchgoers, such as infidelity, infighting, hedonism, prayerlessness, improper prayer and pride
Wisdom, Purity and Peace
What James has to say must be said, heard and acted upon by believers. We must recognize and resist the earthly, sensual and demonic works against believers which show up in the form of self-seeking, bitter envy and confusion.
