The chapter opens with an encouragement to believers to take their salvation seriously. He warns of drifting away, and the fate of negligence, citing the miraculous features of our faith which we must not forget

Since the ancient Hebrews held angels high esteem, the writer of Hebrews makes it clear that Christ is not only superior to angels but Yahweh of the Psalms and divine. And He uses their very own Scriptures to do it.

We believe that Jesus Christ is God the Son, Creator of everything created, eternal; without beginning—without ending; self-existent, Savior of sinners, the only begotten Son of God. Here is why believe it so!

We begin Hebrews by considering its author, date, audience, purpose and of course Jesus Christ. Hebrews lays out in force the superiority of Christ above all others, and that He alone is sufficient for salvation.
