Peter lays out five vices that Christians must not tire of resisting. He tells us that we are being built up as a spiritual house, a house of God that is, whose function is to bring sinners into the light of Jesus Christ.
Since Being Saved
Purification of one’s life, obeying the truth by the Spirit, an undying rebirth, real and zealous love for believers; all under the influence of God’s word; the Scripture. This is how Peter summarized our salvation.
Christian Altitude
Peter, well aware of what persecution is, having lived through the deaths of His Lord, James his friend and fellow servant Stephen, tells the persecuted believers that they must raise above their plight through Christ.
The Spirit of Christ
Concerning God’s plan of salvation Peter schools the persecuted believers on the divine and miraculous processes that brought us the prophecies about the Christ they loved and suffered for in this age of grace.
The Believer’s Prize
Peter tells believers that awaiting us after this life is an incorruptible and un-defilable inheritance. The Holy Spirit, through the pen of Peter, insists that the believer is kept by God, with their prize also guarded by Him.
